After touring both the political and economic capitals of Morocco, Rabat, and Casablanca, respectively, we now go on a new trip via Fez, formerly known as the Mecca of the West, and Athena of Africa. In terms of population, it is the second-largest city in the nation after Casablanca.
It was the country’s former capital and one of its four imperial cities. Fez-Jdid, or the new Fes, is home to the Mellah, the Jewish district, and the Ville Nouvelle, the city’s newest portion built under French rule. UNESCO has declared Fez el Bali a World Heritage Site. It has the world’s biggest medina. Furthermore, we can find in Fes the oldest university in the world, The University of Al-Karaouine. Fatima al-Fihri founded it in AD 859 and the university is still in operation today.
First, in our Morocco holidays 8 days from Fes to Marrakech the driver/guide will pick you up from your Fes lodging at 8 a.m., and after breakfast, we will proceed south to Merzouga through Midelt and Errachidia. Then, the driver will tell you about the history of our nation as well as the Amazigh (Berber) history in North Africa. You will go to Midelt through the Middle Atlas highlands and cedar woodland. However, your first stop will be in Ifrane, known as Morocco’s Switzerland, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center specializing in cedar woodwork. Afterward, you’ll visit Morocco’s largest cedar forest, which is famous. There, you will get the chance to see and take pictures of Barbarian apes.
After taking the route to Midelt across the Middle Atlas, where you can observe the same family nomadic and tiny Berber hamlet, you may stop for lunch in Midelt, and your adventure continues along the stunning Ziz Valley. As a result, make pauses along the way for panoramic views. We will next pass through Berber communities on our way to Erfoud. We’ve reached Merzouga at last.
Following breakfast at the hotel, you’ll begin your exploration of the area by visiting the ‘village of the blacks,’ once slaves from Sudan, to learn about their music and way of life. Moreover, Merzouga Lake, home to several bird species, including flamingos, lies nearby. In the afternoon, you will saddle your camel, accompanied by an expert Camel person, to explore the mystical Erg-Chebbi sand sea. Finally, you’ll spend your first night there beneath the stars, or in an authentic Berber nomad tent if you like.
The finest dawn of your life may be waiting for you when our camel guide wakes you up early in the morning. You may snap beautiful photographs while watching the sunrise, and then ride camels back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. Also, we will drive past plantations of palm trees. After stopping for lunch, we proceed to the Todra Gorges for a little promenade. Soon after, we move toward Boumalne de Dades, where we will halt. Supper and stay in a traditional Kasbah
Departing from Dades Valley towards Rose Valley, Ouarzazat, and Marrakech after breakfast. Via El Kelaa M’gouna, the Valley of the Roses, and the Road of 1000 Kasbahs, we will go down the Rose Valley. Visit Ouarzazate and have lunch at the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Nevertheless, we will spend some time seeing the well-known UNESCO World Heritage Site, which served as the backdrop for several movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and The Gladiator. Driving past Tichka, where you may explore traditional Berber towns, we’ll arrive in Marrakech and spend the night in a riad or a hotel.
Marrakesh is going to be the focus of a fully guided trip. The so-called “Red City.” Marrakesh is the most important former imperial city in Moroccan history. It is close to Atlas Mountain’s snow-capped foothills. Further, Marrakech has an older fortified city as do many of the older cities. The Medina and Gueliz, a contemporary city constructed during French rule. Marrakesh has Morocco’s largest souk (traditional market). It also boasts Djemaa el Fna, one of the busiest squares in the continent of Africa and the entire globe. On one hand, there are several storytellers, snake charmers, water vendors, dancers, and musicians in the square. On the other hand, the square transforms into a sizable open-air dining area at night.
We’ll see the Koutoubia Mosque during our stay. Constructed during the Almoravid Dynasty’s rule in the 12th century. Finally, in an ancient town, we will go through alleys and narrow streets.
